UPDATE, May 9, 2025: The Alabama Department of Transportation is continuing resurfacing work on South College Street between Interstate 85 and the East University Drive/Shug Jordan Parkway intersection.

Work is expected to take place overnight between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday. Work on May 11 will be delayed until 10 p.m.

Lane closures and reduced speed limits are expected throughout the project, which is expected to last through June.

Motorists are advised to use caution in the area.

Oct. 8, 2024: AUBURN, Ala.- The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) began a resurfacing project on state Route 147 in October. The project includes resurfacing Shug Jordan Parkway from South College Street to North College Street and South College Street from Interstate 85 to the East University Drive/Shug Jordan Parkway intersection.

Motorists should expect lane closures and reduced speed limits throughout the project, which is expected to last through spring 2025. ALDOT encourages drivers to plan accordingly for possible delays and to be mindful of people and equipment in the work zone.

Lane closures will not be permitted during Auburn University's home football game weekends.
